Or "The best-laid plans of mice and men..."
So, in the previous part http://bubbaworkshop.althemy.com/blogpost/3601-busy-with-sister-of-battle-overhaul
I wrote about ideas and a early realization of those ideas. Here it will be more descriptive and it will also explain why the above quote is unfortunately quite appropriate...
First, after making the final shape of the jump pack it came to my favorite part - decorating.
That came to remind everyone of the Gothic cathedral is no incident - whole Warhammer 40000 iconography borrows heavily from a gothic style. So, arched windows, rosettes and decorations all around.

In my mind central part of jump pack became cathedral, side parts cranelations of the fortress and "balls" at the end towers.

It really came into it's own when painted in relatively simple blue-gray/gold/silver scheme:

Lower leg armor gave us a bit of problems, it refused to stay properly aligned to the legs, so some shortcuts had to be taken. Still, I am way more satisfied with it than with previous version.

Nice, finished all, even repaired old pieces...
Then a disaster struck - JJ managed to catch food poisoning two days before convention... As a result there are no pictures of full costume.
Oh well, next con...
